Mayor Lucas speaks to press at a protest in late spring
Despite some of the locations canceling their petition drives earlier in the week a local group’s efforts to recall the Kansas City Missouri mayor are back on track. The organizers are collecting signatures at multiple locations and spontaneous pop up events in order to remove Mayor Quinton Lucas from office. One location hosting the drives has had a lot of people come in over the last two days and signature sheets are getting turned in as they fill up. In order to sign the petition at that location you need to show you are a KCMO resident and a registered voter.
The organization's efforts seem to be building up quickly. Alongside the notarized petition drives they now also have a fundraising campaign linked to their cause.
